● Founding Ideals
The Ling Jiou Mountain
Triyana Buddhist College was founded in AD 2003, with the
vision and mission of propagating the Buddha dharma and benefiting
all sentient beings. It provides a good environment for practicing
Buddha dharma and pursuing the truth for those who are determined
to seek the way to enlightenment. And it hopes to cultivate
Buddhist followers with the ability of knowing, doing, and preaching. |

After gaining a solid grounding in the Linji and Caodong lineage of Chan (Zen) Buddhism, Dharma Hsin Tao engaged in solitary ascetic practices in dilapidated temples, pagodas, mass graves, the ruins, and caves for many years. He also has deep experience in the practice of tranquility meditation, which is the main type of meditation he teaches to his followers, lay and monastic alike. Regular meditation retreats are held at the monastery each season, forming the basic training for long-term disciples. By integrating practice and insight into daily life, Dharma Hsin Tao’s teaching style is lively, friendly, straight to the point, and often accompanied by a touch of lighthearted playfulness. Responding to the cause for practicing Buddha dharma by contemporary living beings, he has a strong connection with the Theravāda and Vajrayāna traditions, and has been recognized by the Supreme Patriarch of Burma and the Nyingma Kathok lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. What he promotes is the original intention of Buddha – the Unification of Three Yanas. |

Following the Unification of Three Yanas and carrying out solitary ascetic practices to the path of Bodhisattva, Dharma Hsin Tao puts stress on taking Bodhicitta as the cause in leading his lay and monastic disciples to the path of practicing Buddha dharma. As a practitioner who integrates insight into practice, he hopes that all living beings can experience the power of believing so that they can be motivated deeply and spontaneously to engage in the ideal of benefiting self and the others in the process of becoming enlightened. Preaching Buddha dharma and reviving the spirit of Nālandā are the missions which Dharma Hsin Tao is dedicated to accomplishing. By founding the Ling Jiou Mountain Triyana Buddhist College, it is hoped that more and more young people and students who are determined to learn the Buddha dharma of Three Yanas and follow the path of Bodhisattva can step in the right direction toward complete enlightenment of the self and the others. |

Any
Buddhists taking refuge in Three Jewels and determined to preach
and propagate Buddha dharma are regarded as our good partners
and are hoped to plant together with us the good seeds of Buddha
dharma, benefiting the self and the others life after life.

Three Yanas are the vehicles that can
lead us to the path of becoming a Buddha. And the only direction
is toward the path of Bodhisattva which benefits both self
and the others, and gives us insight to become enlightened.
